Ms. Wheelchair Kentucky has always been a labor of love. We were first organized by Ms. Wheelchair America 1998- a Kentuckian! Although Ms. Wheelchair America was established in 1972, not every state had a coordinated program. Without a state organization, Kentucky sent Independent Titleholders to compete in the National Ms. Wheelchair America Pageant. In 1997, that Independent Titleholder was Teri Cecil.
Teri was chosen by the national judges to be Ms. Wheelchair America 1998. As part of her duties, Teri came home to the Bluegrass State and started the program here. The organization was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 2001.
Every fall, Ms. Wheelchair Kentucky, Inc. has seen accomplished and delightful women compete to represent our state in the national pageant. The 2016 pageant celebrated the 20th pageant!
